Dr. Douglas K. Wilson (PhD, Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary) serves as Dean for the School of Christian Studies. He regularly teaches courses in biblical studies, intercultural studies, and Biblical Hebrew. His PhD is in Old Testament languages and literature, focusing on Semitic culture, with extensive experience in comparative languages and comparative religions. Dr. Wilson began his teaching career with the University of Mobile in 1996 as a faculty member on the Latin American Campus in Nicaragua. Since joining the faculty here in Mobile 2003, he regularly leads student mission teams and international service projects around the world. Dr. Wilson developed the curriculum for the Intercultural Studies major in 2010, and more than 20 students have graduated from the program, serving our King and the peoples of the world with both academic training and cultural field experience. He recently developed the curriculum for our new online major, Marketplace Ministry, which launched in January 2015 for our Adult and Graduate Studies program. Dr. Wilson has been married for more than 30 years, and they have six children. He has contributed articles to the Holman Illustrated Bible Dictionary, the Great Commission Research Journal, the Encyclopedia of Christian Civilization, the Lexham Bible Dictionary project, the HCSB Exhaustive Bible Concordance, and more than one hundred articles to The Alabama Baptist. He has also been listed in Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers.
